Novak Djokovic could become honorary citizen of the BiH town of Visoko

According to the mayor of Visoko, near the Bosnian capital, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic could become an honorary citizen of the town as he promoted it during his recent visits to the ‘Bosnian Pyramids’.

Djokovic visited Visoko several times throughout the past year and called it “heaven on earth.”

The alleged pyramid discovery in the town from 2005 still divides the scientific community. However, the person behind it, Dr Semir Osmanagic, has been promoting the site and bringing countless visitors to the town.

The hills around the town are, according to Osmanagic, man-made pyramids that have a positive effect on the human immune system.

Djokovic’s visits have helped promote the Osmanagic’s discovery and Visoko.

This is why the ‘Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation’ submitted a proposal for the tennis player to be named honorary citizen.

Visoko’s mayor, Mirza Ganic, said that he is glad that Djokovic won the 2021 French Open on Sunday and that it happened shortly after he visited the town.

“He sent nice messages from Visoko during his visit, and if you take into account the fact that he won after coming to Visoko and that he carried this positive energy of ours, then we must be especially proud because these messages that are being sent will surely bring other people to come and visit our town and get to know its attractions,” he said.

“The foundation sent that proposal, and considering that the City of Visoko awards recognitions to deserving citizens every year, but also to people who contributed to the affirmation of Visoko, which Djokovic did, we expect that the proposal will be adopted,” he said.
